Scholar of the Year 4x in a Row

Scholar of the Year 4x in a Row

This is probably the shortest thing that I will ever post

I have often been asked why my moniker on much of social media is Scholar of the Year 4x in a Row.

It is simply a reference to Get Ya Mind Right off of Jeezy’s legendary Trap or Die mixtape. Which in my book has one of hardest intros of all time.

I’m one of the realest n***as in this sh*t, man
I got the motherf**kin' streets, n***a
I came in this game with everything I motherf**kin' want
N***a, this sh*t is about respectin' me
Love to see when I walk up in the club;
N***a run up on me and tell me, "I’m the realest n***a livin'"
N***a, you know what I’m sayin?

I'm the realest nigga in it—you already know
Got trapper of the year four times in a row (What they give you?)
A lifetime supply of baking soda clientele
A Rolley watch, two pots and three scales (Let's get it)

More importantly, I resonate with these lyrics in a non-trap context. Respect is one of my core values. As the saying goes, You don’t have to like me, but you gotta respect me. All else considered, outside of a blatant lack of respect, there is very little that bothers me. Furthermore, the fact that he has won “Trapper of the Year four times in a row” signals that Jeezy has not gotten complacent in his success, he kept going even though he has everything he has wanted. Lastly, the fact that Jeezy is from Middle Georgia reminds me of what is possible from the area, and to stay true to your roots.

TL;DR: I’m the realist in the game, this blog is the realist on the web. Jeezy’s [was] a trapper, I’m a scholar.

If you ever have saw my periodic Facebook photodumps, this is where the album title came from.
